When the Garmin Approach R10 launched in 2021 it was a game-changer for golf simulation. It was the first sub-GBP 500 launch monitor to have golf simulation capabilities and provided detailed club path parameters that previously were only available in much more expensive units.
What can I do with my Garmin Approach R10?
The Garmin Approach R10 is small (about the size of a deck of cards), portable, works both indoors and outdoors and provides 14 different data metrics, with a high degree of accuracy. It also allows you to play over 42,000 virtual courses, capture video of every swing, correlate each swing with your shot data and save the data so you can refer back to it anytime.
One of the key features of the Garmin Approach R10 is its ability to provide accurate and detailed swing data. It tracks crucial parameters such as:
- Clubhead speed
- Ball speed
- Launch angle; and
- Spin rate
This data can be immensely valuable in analysing your swing, identifying areas for improvement and refining your technique.
In addition to swing analysis, the R10 also offers game modes and training exercises to keep your skills sharp. You can challenge yourself with virtual courses, skill-building exercises and even compete with other golfers in online tournaments. The device provides real-time feedback and performance metrics to help you gauge your progress and set new goals.
The Garmin Approach R10 integrates seamlessly with your smartphone or tablet, allowing you to view your data, track your performance over time, and even share your achievements with fellow golfers.
The bang-for-buck is amazing - this is an advanced golf launch monitor and whether you're a beginner looking to improve your swing or a seasoned golfer aiming for precision, the R10 has something for everyone.

Hot Tip! Install the Latest Software Update
One tip we strongly recommend is to make sure you install the latest software to your new Garmin R10 - as David Maxfield says:
Make sure you check for the latest Garmin R10 software updates once you get it out of the box. Some people miss that step and end up using old software, which can throw up inaccuracies. You can also download Garmin Express which checks and offers software updates automatically each time you connect your Approach R10 to your computer.

Spornia SPG-5 Golf Practice Net (Compact Edition)
The packaging was great, and arrived 2 days after my order. The net is very easy to assemble and was up first time in 5 minutes. The materials used seem to be top class and i have every confidence it will last many years of heavy duty use.only down side is I wish I had ordered the side nets because i hit the occasional hosel rocket. Absolutely delighted with it to be honest, thanks all at spornia UK.
An excellent value for money bundle. Loving both the mat and the SPG-7 net. Ideal for garden practice.
This really is a superb net. The spg-7 was the perfect size for me as I only have a small garden. I really can’t fault it in any way.
Spornia Bundle #2 SPG-7 Golf Practice Net + Tri Turf Mat + Side Extension Nets
Great practice net. Very good quality. Easy to set up and put away.
My net is superb, quick and easy to put up and down, takes less than 5 minutes. The net gives me confidence to truly hit shots into it without the fear of going through, which I’ve done with 2 other brands, great built quality.
Great product to protect your garden from any dreadful shanked shots that you might have whilst practicing in the superb Spornia Net.
Very happy with my choice. Spornia uk team
excellent, updating me on progress of order and offering setup and use advice. Highly recommended
Having had previous bad experiences with practice nets, I wanted one that was safe, robust, and easy to assemble/disassemble. My choice has proved to be ideal.
With barely a glance at the instructions, the net was fully erected in no more than 5 minutes. It acts exactly as claimed, with low noise and easily handling powerful strikes. The only way you would have a problem is with very wild shanks and skies, but you see can those in full on driving ranges!
If I had any suggestions to improve the product, I think I would change the 'target' for graduated grid lines: vertical getting thicker to the centre and horizontal getting thinner towards the top. In addition, perhaps look at the design of the thin strut to make it easier sliding in and out: in, when it gets snagged, and out, when it tends to separate. Overall, though, superb!
Got a call straight after raising my first review and the order was flushed through and sent the next day. Thanks. I’ll let you know how I get on.
Received an email to say that my order was despatched and then an email asking how satisfied I was with it. Still not arrived, so not very. Called twice and left messages for an update, but no response. Please get in touch so that I can update the review.
Surprised my wife with the SPG8 XL (upgraded from the SPG7) for her birthday. Its only for her pitch and putt practice but she is new to golf and its ideal. Its quite large and takes up space but still fits well in our small terrace house garden. It sets up in a matter of minutes from the spring out of the bag to the placing of the rods to keep it rigid. It towers over my 1.70m height and gives extreme confidence that you cant hit a ball outside its defensive walls. I used a 9 iron and easily kept it below the upper overhang. Its a soft muffled sound when the ball hits the cloth backing. The swoosh of your club swing and it striking the ball are louder than hitting the back cloth. I didnt try a driver but Ive seen the youtube videos of it so Im confident its ok. I had a little trouble getting used to bringing it down but Im getting better at it each time. Pity that I cant keep it up because of Irelands wet climate and because of its size in our small garden. I was very happy with the overall experience of purchasing it through the internet. Would have preferred the SPG7 due to our garden size but Im happy enough, besides I wanted it for my wifes birthday and the SPG7 had sold out. The net arrived within 5 days of ordering and Charlie from Spornia looked after me all the way. I highly recommend the Spornia net, its well made, easy to put up and put away (with practice hehe) and Spornia are great to deal with. Do yourself a favour and get yourself one of these nets. Im glad that I did!
The Spornia SPG-7 Golf Practice Net is great. It's easy to put up and take down and appears to be very robust. The ball return feature is a nice touch too. I'd also recommend the golf teaching hitting mat. It's a lot of money but is well made, extremely durable and worth every penny.
I’ve had my net for two weeks and it has made practicing so much easier. I don’t have to go to the range as much, so I’m saving money there. The net is very easy to setup and pack away and the build quality is excellent. I would recommend getting a proper range hitting mat (where you are at the same height as the hitting area) since I started with a small triple grass mat which caused me to shank a shot into my neighbours garden!
